'Drunkards' vandalise vehicles

Bengaluru: Residents of Rajiv Nagar in Laggere, on Friday, woke up to find their parked vehicles vandalised. According to sources, unidentified miscreants had smashed front and rear windscreens of around 12 cars that were parked by the roadside here.

Several other vehicles were also damaged, they added. The shocked residents alerted the jurisdictional police after which the spot was inspected.

It is suspected that several drunk miscreants are behind this activity. The residents claim that such incidents have happened multiple times earlier but the police have not taken any strict action on the miscreants.

The damaged vehicles included 12 cars, an autorickshaw, and four goods vehicles. The locals also alerted the Rajarajeshwari Nagar BJP MLA Muniratna Naidu, after which he visited the place and inquired about the incident with the residents.

Muniratna criticised the police for failing to act in the matter and asked them to intensify the patrolling during the night and initiate a probe to nab the miscreants.
