Charge sheet filed against actor Nagabhushan

Bengaluru: Concluding the investigation in a road accident case in which a 48-year-old woman died, Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police has submitted a 80-page charge sheet against Kannada actor Nagabhushan SS.

The incident had taken place on the night of September 30 when an elderly couple, Krishna B, 58, and his wife, Prema, were crossing the Vasanthapura Main Road in Bengaluru.

It was learnt that Nagabhushan who was driving his car, rather recklessly, allegedly knocked down the couple before crashing into an electric pole. The severely injured couple were shifted to a hospital.

However the woman died before reaching the hospital. A complaint was filed by the couple's son, Partha, who sought appropriate action as per law against Nagabhushan.

During their investigation, the police claimed to have collected 60 pieces of evidence related to the incident apart from the statements of the eyewitnesses and footage collected from the CCTV cameras around the accident site.

Earlier, the police had tested Nagabhushan to ascertain if he was driving under the influence of alcohol. However the report showed negative for alcohol consumption.

Meanwhile, the police have also recorded the statements of Krishna, who has reportedly recovered from his injuries. Further course of action in the matter will be directed by the court.
