Speeding SUV rams into bikers in city, 3 people injured

Bengaluru: In yet another incident of reckless driving, a speeding SUV allegedly knocked out three bike riders including a woman near the Kalena Agrahara in the city.

The driver was swiftly nabbed by the jurisdictional traffic police. According to sources, three riders were injured in the incident which came to light after a dashcam footage went viral on social media and was then brought to the notice of the city police.

The SUV driver is seen fleeing the spot after the collision. The Twitter user who posted the video claimed that the incident took place on Sunday. In a swift action, the Hulimavu Traffic Police nabbed the car driver and identified him as Abhishek Agarwal.

It was learnt that the accused had allegedly lost control of the vehicle amidst slow-moving traffic on the road. The police confirmed that the bikers had their helmets on and hence escaped serious injuries.

The victims were identified by the police as Kiran, Jasmitha, and Basanth. The video showed a speeding SUV crashing into the cars and twowheelers during which Kiran was tossed into the air while Jasmitha and Basanth were knocked off their two-wheeler.

A case has been registered against the car driver at the Hulimavu Traffic Police Station.
