Traffic diversion amid planned protest today

Bengaluru: In wake of protests called by "Samyukta Horata Samiti" and other activist organisations at Freedom Park on Monday and Tuesday to meet their various demands, the Bengaluru Traffic police (BTP) have made several traffic diversions to ensure smooth flow of traffic around the area.

Seeking withdrawal of amendments to farm and labour laws brought in by the previous government in Karnataka and seeking fulfilment of other demands, including minimum wages and extension of employment guarantee schemes to urban areas, Samyukta Horata Samiti is set to organise a "Raj Bhavan Chalo" and a mega sitin on November 27 and 28.

Vehicle parking is not allowed from Khoday's Junction to Maharani Junction, Y Ramachandra Road, Kalidasa Road, Palace Road, and KG Road. Citizens are requested to cooperate and follow diversions and traffic rules.

BTP has made the following diversion for traffic:

1. Vehicles coming from Mysore Bank Circle towards Freedom Park are requested to proceed through Maharani Under Pass.

2. The stretch of road between Freedom Park Junction towards Kanakadasa circle will be closed for traffic movement temporarily and road users are requested to avoid this road.

3. Vehicles coming from Khoday's Circle towards KR Circle can use the service road below Anand Rao flyover and via Old JDS Office and proceed towards Chalukya Circle.

4. At Subbanna Junction towards Gandhinagar, MTR Junction has been converted as a two-way road. Vehicles coming from Sheshadri Road can take a left turn at Subbanna Circle and move further.

No right turn is provided at Subbanna Circle for vehicles coming from Maurya Junction, but proceed towards Gandhinagar Fifth Main Road.
