Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, an elderly couple were found brutally murdered at their residence in Sulibele Police Station limits on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The deceased were identified by the police as Ramakrishnappa, 70, and Muniramakka, 65, residents of Sulibele near Hoskote.

The police suspected that the couple were murdered over a property dispute.

Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru Rural, Mallikarjun Baldandi said that unidentified assailants had barged into the elderly couple's house in Sulibele and attacked them with an iron rod.

Later they escaped after locking the house from outside. Ramakrishnappa and Muniramakka had four daughters and a son, Narasimha, who was living separately with his family for 17 years.

"On Saturday night, one of the daughters had attempted to call her parents as usual. However when no one answered, she visited their house on Sunday and discovered their bodies," the SP said.

The jurisdictional police was alerted immediately and based on a complaint filed by the daughter, took Narasimha into custody for questioning. It was revealed that the elderly couple owned a twoacre land a few sites in Sulibele which they had decided to divide equally among their five children.

However Narasimha was not happy with the decision and was allegedly found quarelling with his parents over this.

The police took suspect Narasimha into custody and questioned him based on the complaint registered by one of his sisters, police said.

The police shifted the dead bodies to hospital and an investigation is underway into the case.
