Director Chimbu Devan's 'Boat' sets sail with Yogi Babu and Gouri G Kishan in lead roles
In a much-anticipated venture, director Chimbu Devan, renowned for his blockbuster hit "Imsai Arasan 23-am Pulikesi," is steering the ship for an upcoming Tamil film titled "Boat."
Starring popular comedian Yogi Babu and actress Gouri G Kishan in lead roles, the movie is expected to make waves with its unique storyline and high-budget production.
Produced by Prabha Premkumar on behalf of Maali and Manvi Movie Makers, "Boat" has been filmed entirely at sea, promising a visual treat for audiences.
The film is slated for a grand release in February next year, hitting screens in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The storyline is set against the backdrop of the 1940s when Japan bombed Chennai during World War II.
According to sources, the plot revolves around ten individuals who escape into the sea on a small boat, only to face unexpected challenges as the boat develops a hole and begins to sink.
To add to their peril, a massive shark encircles the boat, setting the stage for a thrilling and action-packed political comedy.
Cinematography for "Boat" is handled by Madhesh Manickam, with music composed by Ghibran.
The film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including MS Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Jesse Fox-Allen, Chaams, Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Kollapuli Leela, and Aakshath Das.
Yogi Babu, currently basking in the success of "Maaveeran," is set to showcase his versatility in "Boat," where he plays a pivotal role as the boatman.
The teaser, released recently, hints at a gripping narrative set in 1943 during British rule in India. With backing from Maali and Maanvi Movie Makers and Chimbudeven Entertainment, "Boat" is expected to be a survival thriller and political comedy that explores the challenges faced by those stranded in the vast ocean.
