No road to minority-related government offices in Tumakuru: Activist

NT Correspondent

Tumakuru: A Tumkuru-based social activist complained that there had been no proper roads connecting three district-level minority-related government offices in the city, adding that if the issue wasn’t fixed, he along with others would stage a protest in front of the DC’s office.

Demanding “Road Bhagya” for minorities after the various schemes of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the activist Nisar Ahmed said that the three offices in question belonged to the Karnataka Minority Welfare Department, Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation and the Waqf Department.

He added that the offices didn’t have proper spaces for parking either, inconveniencing people, especially poorer beneficiaries who visited the venues.

Nisar also accused a “former politician” of not according proper permission for roads leading up to the office and instead constructing a compound on the spot where there was supposed to be a street.

The activist said that the politician had done it to prevent the value of his layout from coming down due to “presence of minorities”.
