
4 people killed in 5 separate road accidents in the city

Bengaluru: At least four people died and one sustained severe injuries in five separate road accidents that took place in the city.
Uttarahalli
A youth was killed after he came under the wheels of a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus on the Uttarahalli Main Road on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified by the traffic police as Tejas, 22, an engineering graduate and a native of Tumakuru district.
According to the police, the incident took place when the youth attempted to overtake the bus but lost control of his bike and came under the wheels.
A case has been registered by the Kengeri Traffic Police against the driver of the BMTC bus. Further investigations are underway.
RT Nagar
A 36-year-old driver died after his car crashed into a road divider in RT Nagar Traffic Police Station limits on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Raju and the incident took place on Dinnur Main Road. According to the cops, the deceased was overspeeding and lost control of the wheels.
Raju suffered severe injuries following which he was rushed to a hospital. However he died without responding to the treatment.
Devanahalli
A 60-year-old man died of severe head injuries in a fall after his bike hit a speed breaker near Akkupet village in Devanahalli Traffic Police Station on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Vasudeva Acharya, the police said. Similarly, a pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding car while crossing a main road.
The deceased was identified by the police as Narayanaswamy, 50. The traffic police have registered cases and launched an investigation.
Peenya
A person sustained severe injuries after falling from his two-wheeler near Kirloskar Layout in Peenya Traffic Police Station limits in the early hours of Monday.
The police said that the injured biker, identified as Sunil Kumar, 53, was overspeeding and lost his balance.
Kumar also suffered a heart attack following which he was taken to Sparsh hospital. The case has been taken up by the traffic police.
