Bengaluru: The audio album of the film Dasavarenya Sri Vijaya Dasaru, based on the 18th Century Bhakti Saint Vijaya Dasa was unveiled earlier this week.
Following up on his two previous films on Bhakti Saints, director Madhusudan has come up with another historical film on a saint.
"I have previously directed films titled 'Jagannatha Dasaru,' Prasanna Venkata Dasaru. Similarly, this film is on the life of another Bhakti Saint Vijaya Dasaru and is titled Dasavarenya Sri Vijaya Dasaru. The filming took place in Kanakadurga, Anegundi, and the surroundings of Navabrindavan. Many artists and technicians who were part of my previous film are also part of this project. Showcasing a life from approximately 250 years ago requires a meticulous approach. With the wholehearted support of our team members, I put in efforts to ensure that the film turned out to be excellent," said director Madhusudan Havaldar.
Releasing the album, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said, “The Vedas are challenging for the common people to understand. Haridasas have, through songs in Kannada, presented the essence of the Vedas in a way that people can comprehend. Following in the footsteps of Purandaradasa, Vijayadasa, who succeeded him, has composed more than 2800 compositions, including a significant number of devotional and melodic pieces. The film about Vijayadasa, born with the essence of Bhrigu Rishi, has been produced by Trivikrama Joshi, my close friend. The director has created some magic with the life of the saint. The songs composed by Vijayakrishna are melodious."
“After Navakoti Narayana and Bhakta Kanakadasa, no films on Haridasas have been made in Kannada. My aim as a producer is to make such films and get the message of the Dasas to the people,” producer and actor Trivikram Joshi, said. He plays the lead role in the film.
