Four died in separate road accidents

Bengaluru: At least four people have died in separate road accidents in the city since Sunday.
A techie died after the car he was driving hit a tree and then a house gate on CMR Road near Banaswadi in the wee hours on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Melvin Joshua, 25, a software engineer and a resident of Horamavu in Bengaluru.
According to the traffic police, the accident occurred around 2:30 am when Joshua was returning along with a friend from an engagement ceremony held in Hennur.
As he was overspeeding, he lost control of the wheel near the Zodiac building on CMR Road, the police said.
Joshua's car rammed into a parked car, then a tree before crashing into a metal gate of a house. A few locals shifted Joshua and his friend to a nearby hospital where Joshua succumbed to injuries around 4 am.
The Banaswadi traffic police have registered a case. In a separate incident, a 22-yearold private employee died after he lost control of his two-wheeler due to overspeeding in Hulimavu Traffic Police Station limits.
The deceased was said to be hailing from Assam and the police identified him as Umaang Bora, a resident of Bellandur in Bengaluru.
The police said that Bora was returning home after a party with his friends when the incident took place around 1:30 am on the Begur to Electronic City Main Road.
A severely injured Bora was being rushed to a hospital but he died midway, the police added. Hulimavu Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
On Sunday afternoon, a biker carrying two children was knocked down by an auto-rickshaw driver, who was allegedly driving in a negligent manner near Hegganahalli.
Chandrashekhar, 48, a resident of Maruthinagar, died on the spot after suffering severe head injuries in the accident.
The children, however, escaped with minor injuries. Peenya Traffic Police have taken up the case and arrested the autorickshaw driver.
Similarly a young pedestrian died after he was struck by a speeding bike while crossing the BengaluruBellary Main Road in Devanahalli Traffic Police Station limits around 9:15 pm on Sunday.
The deceased, Nagesh, 20, was a labourer working at an under-construction building in Ammanikere. He was a native of Nanded in Maharashtra.
The accident took place when Nagesh was going with his friends to have tea at a nearby shop.
A bike moving from Bengaluru towards Devanahalli struck him following which he sustained severe injuries on hands and legs.
His friends called an ambulance, but before it could reach the spot, Nagesh succumbed to injuries, the police said. The biker escaped from the place.
