Bar brawl: Five arrested for killing a man

Bengaluru: The city police arrested five people for their alleged involvement in murdering a person in Subramanyapura Police Station limits.
The deceased, Darshan, was found murdered on the night of January 24. According to the police, his head was smashed with a stone by the accused.
Taking up the case, the jurisdictional police launched a probe and arrested five men identified as Venkatesh, Chandrashekhar, Yashwanth, Prashanth and Darshan.
During the interrogation, the police learnt that the deceased knew the five accused for several years.
Yashwanth used to work as a delivery executive while Chandrashekhar and Venkatesh were auto-rickshaw drivers.
Prashanth and Darshan used to work as plumbers. On January 24, the victim Darshan's grandmother gave him Rs 3000 to hand it over to his mother.
However he went to a local bar along with two friends, Ramesh and Nitin. The five accused arrived at the same bar. Due to a personal grudge with Nitin, Chandrashekhar picked up a fight with him over a petty issue.
The staff at the bar stopped the fight and asked all of them to leave. However the fight continued outside the bar as the five accused began attacking Darshan and his friend.
During the fight, the accused took a hollow cement brick and allegedly smashed Darshan's head, killing him. Further investigation is underway.
