Gang arrested for carrying sharp weapons in car

Bengaluru: The Whitefield police arrested a gang of 10 persons who were allegedly carrying machetes and iron rods in two cars in the city.

Based on credible infor mation, the police tracked the vehicles and nabbed the gang. The police said that one of the accused was a history sheeter of Chintamani Police Station.

He also had several cases filed against him at Chikkaballapura and various other police stations. Another accused had criminal cases against him registered in Andhra Pradesh and police stations in other states.

The police recovered six iron clubs, two machetes, two iron rods, five pepper spray cans, two mobile phones and two SUVs from their possession. Further inquiry is on against the accused.
