Bengaluru: The spotlight on students during yearend examinations often overlooks the efforts of educators and invigilators across various boards and schools.

Dr Veena, a principal of a school in Bengaluru with over two decades of experience as an educator, shares her experience with News Trail.

Despite staying 30 kilometres away from the school, she relies on public transportation to travel to and from the school daily, emphasising her commitment to her school and profession.

Her workload has increased with the exam season as she balances the role of both principal and teacher in her school. She shared that every year, in March and April she finds herself extremely busy barely having time to take a break.

She said, “I have to be vigilant about several essentials for the examination such as the safety of question papers and answer sheets, supervise and deliver the paper to the evaluation officers and so on.”

She further added that several teachers and educators make several sacrifices for the future of their students.

Veena's narrative serves as a reminder of the countless unsung heroes in the education sector. Their dedication and deference frequently go unnoticed.
