Metro video sparks debate on privacy &public behavior

Bengaluru: A video surfaced on the internet showing a young couple engaging in an intimate act inside a Bengaluru Metro train.

The individual who filmed it asserted that the couple was kissing amidst a crowd of passengers and urged the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to intervene.

In a cross-post comparing the incident to scenes in the Delhi metro, a user tagged authorities and expressed concern, stating, "Hey @OfficialBMRCL @NammaMetro_ @BlrCityPolice. What is happening in Namma metro? Slowly Bangalore metro is turning into Delhi metro. Take some action on them. The girl was literally kissing the boy."

Bengaluru police acknowledged the viral video and requested further information through direct message, stating, "Noted, please provide your contact number via DM."

Several users on X commented others to mind their own business and refrain from filming without permission, suggesting that individuals should close their eyes if they don't wish to see affectionate behaviour.

They question why the incident is being portrayed negatively, arguing that it doesn't harm anyone, and propose focusing on more significant issues like public urination and defecation.

Additionally, they question the need for action against the couple and instead suggest considering repercussions for the person who recorded the video.

Similar incidents have occurred in the Delhi metro in the past, prompting warnings from metro authorities in the national capital regarding severe consequences for engaging in intimate activities inside metro coaches.
