8 schools receive 'hoax' bomb threat
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: At least eight private school in the city received an email on Tuesday morning claiming that a bomb had been planted at the campus. Initially, a school in Amruthahalli received a bomb threat mail around 12:20 am which the authorities noticed around 7:30 am on Tuesday.
Shocked, they informed the jurisdictional police. Following an inspection, the bomb threat was declared a hoax by the police.
Soon after this, seven other schools also reported receiving similar mail threats. The Police along with bomb disposal and dog squads rushed to the campuses. However they could not find any suspicious item.
A senior police officer said that a probe has been initiated to trace the sender of these threat mails.
On Sunday, a few hospitals in Bengaluru had received similar bomb threat mails triggering panic among the staff. Simultaneously, hospitals and schools in Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow had also received similar mails.
