IIM Bangalore introduces first-ever online BBA programme

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore is breaking new ground with the introduction of an innovative online BBA program focused on Digital Business Entrepreneurship (DBE), aimed at enhancing accessibility and affordability.

Scheduled to start in September 2024, this marks a milestone as IIM-B becomes the pioneer among its counterparts in offering an undergraduate course, in contrast to other IIMs that typically provide on-campus integrated management programs.

The curriculum of the DBE program is structured around three core domains: Digital technology and business, Entrepreneurship, and Management. Each course spanning three years, will have 45 credits, aligning with the National Education Policy's framework and will offer flexible exit options after year one and two.

While the first year emphasises on management fundamentals, the subsequent years are focused on nurturing entrepreneurial skills. Over 50 faculty members will contribute their expertise to the programe.

The inaugural batch will accommodate 1,000 students, chosen through a entrance examination, with exam dates set to be announced soon. Eligibility criteria stipulate that students should have attained a minimum 60 per cent marks in their II PUC or equivalent class 12 examinations.

Application forms will be accessible starting June 15. The total fee for the entire three-year program stands at Rs 4.5 lakh.
