BTP proposes new tech-driven traffic management system

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The traffic department has approached the state gover nment with a proposal to introduce another tech-based system for a qualitative improvement in managing vehicular traffic in the city.

The proposed system will help Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) to simulate any complex situation on the road and make informed decisions.

If the government gives its nod to the proposal, Bengaluru will become India's first city to adopt a ‘Traffic Micro Simulation Modelling’ system. According to BTP officials, the new technology will cost approximately Rs 4 crore and has to be sourced from abroad.

Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, MN Anucheth said, "We have recently submitted an action plan to the state government, and the proposal to include the new technology is an important aspect of it."
