Surprise! Post-revaluation, Bengaluru girl added to SSLC toppers list
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: When the SSLC results were announced, Bhavana TS, a student of BNR Public School at T Dasarahalli, was unhappy over the 99 and 96 marks she scored in English and Science.
That spurred her to apply for revaluation and she ended up being the SSLC topper in Karnataka scoring 625 marks. This is a good enough instance to expose the negligence and lapses in the secondary education department and among evaluators.
When the results were first declared on May 9, Ankita Basappa Kannur, a student of Morarji Desai Residential School at Malligeri in Mudhol taluk of Bagalkot district, was announced as the SSLC topper in Karnataka scoring 625 out of 625 marks.
It was also said that Ankita was the only student who scored cent percent marks in all subjects this year.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar congratulated the state toppers and presented a cheque for Rs 5 lakh to Ankita and Rs 2 lakh to another student from Mandya, Navneet, who secured third place in the exam.
