UK ICE team praises Jakkur lake revival efforts by BBMP

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The United Kingdom's Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) has commended the ongoing restoration efforts at Jakkur Lake. ICE President Anusha Shah, alongside the Atkins team, visited the lake on Friday to witness the progress firsthand.

Atkins, an international design consultancy, praised the local lake division's commitment to sustainable technologies.

Lakes play a crucial role in urban environments, and the rejuvenation of Jakkur Lake displays development initiatives, including wetland enhancement. Officials highlighted the project's long-term benefits for future generations and shared strategies for replicating similar efforts in other lakes.

The increasing interest from corporations, environmentalists, lake conservationists, and design consultants from various regions is evident, with upcoming visits focused on studying Jakkur Lake's restoration, rejuvenation, and sustainable practices.
