Study medicine abroad to overcome expenses, lack of seats domestically, students told

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A seminar aimed at providing guidance to Indian students aspiring to be doctors but cannot afford the high fees for the course was held by Al-Ameen Educational Society in association with Edu Solve Edutech Private Limited on Sunday.

Students, especially those from poor and middle-class families, who miss out on local medical seats due to the high costs or falling short in competitive exam scores amid paucity of seats, can obtain affordable medical education abroad, was the message.

A speaker at the event Dr Phani Bhushan Potu said: “Students can obtain medical education for as less as Rs 30 lakh in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan or Georgia.”

From the first year, students are also trained for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), which is required to practice medicine in India.

This structured approach ensures that students are wellprepared to return to India and obtain their practicing licence, he added. Giorgi Tatanashvili from Georgia emphasised that 27 per cent of their students have cleared the FMG exam, highlighting the effectiveness of their programme.

“Medical practice is almost the same globally, with only a few methodological differences,” Tatanashvili said, encouraging students to seize this opportunity at the East Diwakar Chittora of Intellipaat outlines how AI and immersive technologies are bridging the teacher shortage and enhancing learning experiences for India’s youth "The garbage bins are always overflowing, and the stench is unbearable. The event featured prominent figures Dr Phani Bhushan Potu, Director of ISM Edutech and Giorgi Tatanashvili, Health Care Faculty Coordinator at East European University among others. Leaders from Al-Ameen Educational Society, including Chairman Umar Ismail Khan, Secretary Zubair Anwar, and Joint Secretary MZ Ali, were also present on the occasion.
