KSRTC, Metro to continue services but frequency cut

Bengaluru, Jan. 5 Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has said that it will operate buses during the weekend curfew in the state, but with reduced services.
The KSRTC in its statement requested interstate travellers to book their tickets through an online portal and avoid unnecessary walk-ins to the bus depots.
Interstate travellers to Karnataka from Goa, Kerala and Maharashtra must carry an RT PCR negative report regardless of vaccination status. Night time services are to be decided based on online booking, KSRTC said in a release.
Also the transport department requested passengers to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) by wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
Meanwhile, on account of the weekend curfew from Friday 10pm to Monday 5am in the state as per Covid guidelines, Namma Metro Train operational hours were revised on Saturdays and Sundays. On these days, Metro train services will commence at 8am from their respective terminal stations of Nagasandra, Silk Institute, Kengeri and Baiyappanahalli, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) said in a statement.
The metro trains will operate upto 9pm from all the Terminal stations. This will be effective till the curfew is in force, the BMRCL said. However, from Mondays to Thursdays, there are no changes in metro services. The trains will be available as usual from 5am to 11pm from the terminals with reduced frequency during the last one hour as already notified.
On Friday, the metro train services will be closed one hour early i.e., 10pm instead of 11pm from the terminal stations, BMRCL said.
