
Rank holders must aim for global success: Minister Sudhakar
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: Rank holders should embark on a new journey to become more socially responsible as they learn to dream big and explore the possibilities that lie ahead in their lives, said Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar during the first convocation at St. Joseph's University here on Friday. While appreciating the rank holders, the minister said that having achieved this distinction, students should leave the campus with confidence.
They have crossed the initial stage and now need to face various challenges to achieve success besides excelling at the international level."We should never forget the contributions of our parents and teachers as we reach higher levels, as they play a vital role in the success we achieve," said Thimappa Hegde, Director and neurosurgeon at Narayana group of hospitals. At the event, 694 students were eligible to receive their degrees during the first convocation.
Of these, 23 received special recognition, including 15 female students, while another 23 were awarded silver medals, 7 of whom are females. Among the graduates, 499 achieved distinction, 336 secured first class, and 15 obtained second class. Additionally, two students received special awards, and 11 were recognized as Best Outgoing Students in their respective streams at the university
