MUDA chairman Marigowda asserts that he did not betray CM or his family
NT Correspondent Mysuru: MUDA chairman K Marigowda who has been facing the ire of supporters of CM Siddaramaiah, on Monday clarified that he has not committed any wrong when it comes to MUDA irregularities nor did he betray CM Siddaramaiah or his family members. Speaking to reporters at a press conference at his office here, Marigowda said that he was hurt by Friday’s incident wherein the CM's supporters mobbed him and sent him back from Mysuru airport when he had arrived to receive Siddaramaiah on Friday.
He said that he has been by the CM's side ever since Siddaramaiah entered politics. Even the CM had told him that the irregularities in MUDA did not occur during his period as he had taken charge from March 1 this year. The alleged iregularities under the 50:50 site distribution scheme occurred during the previous BJP government's tenure but the supporters of the CM and community leaders were targeting him unnecessarily, accusing him of being responsible for Siddaramaiah's legal troubles, he asserted.
He said the question of submitting his resignation as MUDA chairman does not arise at all. But he is ready to quit from his post if Siddaramaiah seeks his resignation, Marigowda said. He accused that previous MUDA commissioners D B Natesh and Dinesh of being responsible for all MUDA irregularities in distribution of alternative sites under the 50:50 scheme.
