KSRTC appoints 1,000 dependents on compassionate grounds

NT Correspondent Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has appointed 1,000 dependents on compassionate grounds in the past 18 months, according to Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy. This follows a four-year pause in such appointments. The announcement was made during KSRTC’s 63rd Foundation Day celebration at Depot-2 on Wednesday. Reddy, accompanied by the KSRTC Chairman, inaugurated refurbished Airavat Club Class buses and highlighted various labor welfare initiatives. He announced government approval for the induction of 5,800 new buses, with 3,417 dogsalready added to the fleet. An innovative refurbishment initiative allows older vehicles to operate for an additional 400,000 kilometers. Reddy advised families receiving compensation from the accident relief and welfare scheme to invest wisely in education and property. The KSRTC Chairman emphasized the importance of an employee-centric approach and proposed fare adjustments based on fluctuations in crude oil prices.
