State partners with varsity of South Wales to drive clean energy start-ups
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has entered a partnership with the University of South Wales (UNSW) to foster clean energy start-ups. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), facilitated by the Australia India Business Council (AIBC), was signed in Sydney by KREDL’s Managing Director, K.P. Rudrappaiah and UNSW’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global, Professor Colin Grant. The collaboration will advance innovation, promote clean energy technologies and provide incubation support for emerging start-ups in Karnataka. Karnataka’s Energy Minister, K.J. George, hailed the partnership as a significant step toward enhancing Karnataka’s ties with Australia, opening doors to investment and technology exchange.
Gaurav Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, emphasised that this partnership will help build a global ecosystem for clean energy advancements, benefiting the government, businesses and residents in Karnataka. The MoU will remain effective for five years, with potential for renewal. Both sides aim to leverage this partnership to drive commercialisation and investment in renewable technologies, marking a substantial commitment to sustainable development and innovation.
