CID gets new DIG; 5 IPS officers transferred in Karnataka

Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shantanu Sinha was appointed as the new Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) on Friday. Moreover, five IPS officers were transferred while another was given an additional charge. Sinha had been without charge and occupies a vacant post. Meanwhile, G Sangeetha, who had been the Yadgir district Superintendent of Police (SP) swapped places with former CID SP Pruthvik Shankar. Laxman Nimbargi, who had been the SP of State Crime Record Bureau was transferred as Vijayapura district SP.

Shivanshu Rajput, who had been the SP of Centre for Counter Terrorism is Vijayapura district SP Also, Abdul Ahad, who had been Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of City Crime Branch 1 was transferred to the post of Director of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) (Security and Vigilance), replacing Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Sadashiva Prabhu B. Prabhu is now the Director (Science and Technology) of Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, replacing Pavan Kumar Malapati.

Sadashiva is also the new Director of Public Instruction (mid-day meals). Chennabasavanna Langoti, who is the Deputy Director of Karnataka Police Academy has been placed in concurrent charge, taking over as the Director of Karnataka Police Academy, relieving Dr. M B Boralingaiah from additional charge of his own.
