BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has instructed officials to identify and remove encroachments on lakes, stormwater drains, and side drains in the Mahadevapura Zone. His directive came during the "Chief Commissioner's Walk Towards the Zone" initiative, where he visited multiple locations in the area to inspect ongoing projects and address civic issues. At Vengayyana Lake in KR Puram, officials were directed to identify encroachments and carry out removal operations.

The lake is undergoing an Rs 8 crore development project that includes desilting, fencing, bund strengthening, walking paths, inlet repairs, and diversion lines. Additionally, a 15 MLD sewage treatment plant is being set up by the BBMP to prevent sewage inflow, complementing the existing 10 MLD plant established by BWSSB. To mitigate waterlogging during rains near Sakra Hospital Road, a 750-meter stretch is being repaired. Concrete roads are being laid along 120 meters of the stormwater drain, and the remaining sections are being asphalted. Officials have been instructed to clear any encroachments affecting drains in this area.
