Shocking details have emerged in the sensational murder case in Indiranagar, with the accused, Arav Hanoy, reportedly confessing to killing his girlfriend, Maya Gogoi, due to excessive use of her mobile phone. During police interrogation, Arav revealed that he had invited Maya, a young woman from Assam, to a hotel for a meeting, and they had spent 3-4 days together, police sources said. However, despite being at the hotel, Maya remained engrossed in her phone talk, leading Arav to believe she had lost interest in him. Arav admitted that he was frustrated by her constant phone usage, which he felt was a distraction in their relationship. This frustration culminated in his decision to murder Maya and then take his own life. He reportedly told the police, "We will be together in heaven." His chilling confession has shed light on the motive behind the gruesome act. Arav’s background has also come under scrutiny.

Raised by his grandmother in Kannur, Kerala, after losing both parents at a young age, he had recently moved to Bengaluru in May. The couple had met through a dating app, and their friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship. However, Maya’s increasing attachment to her phone triggered Arav’s violent outburst. This case highlights the dangers of excessive smartphone use and the psychological strain it can impose on relationships. Arav’s confession has shocked the police, who are now investigating whether there were any other underlying issues in their relationship that may have contributed to his violent action.
