Andhra delegation visits KSRTC to 'study' Shakti Scheme

Bengaluru: A high-level delegation from the Government of Andhra Pradesh visited the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Central Office in Bengaluru yesterday, January 3. The team included Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Minister for Transport, Youth Affairs & Sports, Anitha Vangalapudi, Minister for Home and Disaster Management, Gummidi Sandhya Rani, Minister for Women and Child Welfare, along with senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh government and APSRTC.
The delegation engaged in detailed discussions with Karnataka's Minister for Transport and Muzrai, the Vice Chairman of KSRTC and other senior officials to understand the successful implementation of the "Shakti Scheme." The scheme offers free travel for women in Karnataka and has been a significant initiative of the state government. The team also visited Depot- 2 of the Bangalore Central Division, where they observed KSRTC’s diverse services, including Airavat Club Class 2.0, Ambari Dream Class, Pallakki, Ambari Utsav, Fly Bus, and others.
They praised KSRTC's vehicle branding, maintenance, and refurbishing efforts. At the Shantinagar Bus Terminal, the delegation interacted with women passengers to gather feedback on the free travel initiative, gaining valuable insights into its impact on the public.
