Boy celebrating birthday dies in road accident

Bengaluru: A boy who was celebrating his birthday was run over by a truck and died in a horrific incident that took place late on Saturday on the Hennur Bande Main Road here. Bhanuteja (12), who was riding a two-wheeler with his brother, died, while his companion Chakradharan escaped with minor injuries. Bhanuteja, a native of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, had been studying the Vedas at the Satyanjaneya Swamy Temple in RT Nagar with his brother and Vedic guru Chakradharan for the past month. Since it was his birthday, the two had gone to their sister's house near Horamavu.

Chakradharan, who was on his way to RT Nagar after celebrating his birthday, was hit by the truck around 11:20 pm. Bhanuteja, who was riding pillion, fell to the ground due to the force of the accident. The truck ran over Bhanuteja's head and he died on the spot. Chakradharan, who was riding the two-wheeler, escaped with minor injuries. Their parents, who had come to the city on the day, are in shock after hearing the news of their son's death. A case has been registered at the Hennur Traffic Police Station.
