A thrust on defence indigenisation

From the defence sector perspective this is a very interesting budget. It has its eye on indigenisation by setting aside 68 per cent of the capital procurement for defence domestic industry. To add to it, there is an increase by 58% from last fiscal as rightly said by the FM Nirmala Sitharaman.

The government by allocating 25 per cent for R&D, by opening up to Industry, startups and so on has sent a strong message regarding its seriousness towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. The encouragement to the private players to take up projects along with DRDO is a further proof to it. The announcement and allocations seem to be good. The next thing to be focused upon is its implementation on the field.

To help the MSMEs by providing Financial Stability, Budget 2022 has extended the ECLG up to March 2023. This will be a boon for the MSME sector. Simultaneously, the revamp of CGTSME will be an added incentive for banks to extend lending. The announcement and allocations seem to be good. The next thing to be focused upon is its implementation.
