Machete wielding African sparks panic

Bengaluru: An Ivory Coast national was arrested by the police for scaring the public by wielding a machete in Hennur police station limits.

The suspect had sparked panic in the area on the main road in front of a police station on Sunday at around 4.30 pm. The station’s Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) after learning about the incident rushed to nab the suspect and bring him to the station.

The ASI was attacked by the suspect. Later other policemen, risking their lives, managed to overpower him, take away the machete from his possession and brought him to the police station. The police are checking his visa details and his whereabouts in the city.
