Man misbehaves with woman cop, at large

The Bidadi police are on the lookout for a 31-year-old man from Padmanabhanagar area in the city for misbehaving with a woman probationary Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) officer.
The incident happened on Monday near the Wonderla amusement park gate in Bidadi between 1.45 pm and 2 pm. The officer along with her colleagues was deployed to provide security during the Mekedatu padayatra.
The accused stopped near her and started creating nuisance by asking for directions towards the city. When the officer did not respond, he is alleged to have abused her claiming that he is the president of Youth Congress. He is also alleged to have pushed her and escaped in the crowd.
The police have identified the accused as K.S. Sachin Gowda, 31, a resident of 5th main in Padmanabhanagar.
The probationary DySP has been identified as Anusha Rani.
The officer, along with DySP Mohan Kumar, police inspector Shobha and a team of constabulary rank of policemen, were deployed at the spot as part of the security arrangements for the padayatra.
“The accused was part of the padayatra and came near Anusha Rani. He tried to create nuisance by targeting her. Even though the officer was in uniform, it did not instil any fear in him. He asked her for the directions. As the officer was able to sense his intent, she ignored him. He then started dropping names of politicians and claimed himself to be the president of youth Congress,” said a police officer.
The other policemen warned him, but Gowda continued to behave rudely and when the police tried to nab him, he disappeared into the crowd.
Through local intelligence, the police have found out his name and other whereabouts. A police head constable identified as Dileep, who was with the probationer, has filed a complaint.

Major traffic snarls were reported in many parts of the city as the Mekedatu Padayatra passed through major roads in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Huge number of vehicles including KSRTC buses were either stuck in traffic for hours or moved at snail’s pace as hordes of Congress workers marched towards National College ground in Basavanagudi through Malleswaram 18th cross road.
Amid this, several students reported to have missed their classes while commuters complained of missing their day’s pay as they reached late to the office. A pregnant woman was also stuck amid the traffic chaos near Sankey Road. “What is our city turning into? Every other day there is a protest causing inconvenience to the public,” a commuter complained. “It’s been years since I heard anything good happening in Bengaluru,” he added.
City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant visited the National College on Thursday and beefed up security around the premises to prevent any untoward incident. Around 3,500 policemen were deployed to clear the congestion and make arrangements to ensure traffic flow.
The Padayatra on its final day resumed from Cauvery Theatre in Guttahalli and passed through Sankey Tank Road, Malleswaram 18th cross, Margosa Road, K.C. General Hospital, Sheshadripuram Link Road, Rajiv Gandhi statue, Sangolli Rayanna Statue, Cottonpet Road, Royan Circle and reached the National College grounds around 5pm with thousands of Congress party workers extending their support to the contentious Mekedatu project.
On Wednesday the rally had covered a distance of 16.7 km to reach Mekhri Circle.
