Close on the heels of hoax bomb threats at numerous city schools, Bishop Cotton Girls’ School got a similar email message on Monday.
As soon as they got an alert, Cubbon Park police rushed to the school at around 10 am along with bomb and dog squads.
The bomb scare sparked panic among school administration and the students. The school staff immediately called the police and informed them.
However, the school administration said they had actually got the threatening email on April 8, but the principal noticed it only on Monday.
Earlier on Friday, panic spread in over six schools across Bengaluru after emails warning bomb threat was sent to the administration.
“A powerful bomb has been planted in your school, it is not a joke, a very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, immediately call the police and sappers, hundreds of lives may suffer, including yours,” the email stated. “All the bomb threat emails have been sent from different email IDs,” Additional Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru East, Dr A Subramanyeswara Rao, said.
