By NT Correspondent

Bengaluru: The police have served notice to Sri Venugopala Swamy temple in the city over the high decibel noise due to the use of loudspeaker and ringing of bells.

According to sources, the action was taken following a complaint filed by the residents alleging disturbances due to the use of loudspeaker and amplifiers.

Surprised on being served a notice by the police, Madhav Narasimha Bhatt, one of the temple authorities asked, “How can we pray without ringing the bell or chanting the hymns? This temple has been here for so many years and how is it that suddenly they have started facing issues?”

In a bid to control noise pollution, the temple has been directed to stop the use of amplifiers.
