89-year-old to run TCS World 10K in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Eighty-nine-year-old Bylahalli Raghunath Janardan has not fully recovered from a spine surgery that he underwent recently, but it will not deter the retired Railways officer from participating in the TCS World 10K in Bengaluru on May 15 with back support. “But I won’t be running at my absolute best as I am currently recovering from a spine injury, but I will run slowly and walk intermittently with a back support belt,” he said.

The event, which returns after a three-year Covid-induced break, will be conducted in two formats: on-ground and a virtual app-based run. Registrations for both formats can be done at www.tcsworld10k.procam.in.

Individuals who have taken at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccination can take part in the event. Participation will be confirmed only when the participant is fully vaccinated by April 30 and uploads the certificate.
