Another allegation against IPS Officer Channannavar

Bengaluru: IPS Officer Ravi D Channannavar has been facing several allegations of late. On Wednesday, a new set of allegations were levelled against him by a woman from Shivamogga. Roja, said to be the wife of Channannavar’s younger brother Raghavendra, alleged that her husband is having an affair with another woman.

Along with her father Lokesh and Advocate Jagadish Mahadev, she presented pictures of her wedding and also those of her husband with another woman with whom he is said to be having an affair. Jagadish said he initially advised them not to bring personal issues onto a public platform and tried to solve the issue. They said they had lodged a complaint directly with the Commissioner of Police in Bengaluru as it involved an IPS officer.

The matter reportedly went to the community’s seer, who tried to settle the issue. However, the Channannavar family reportedly took Raghavendra’s side. Roja alleged that Ravi D Channannavar asked her to live with her husband as well as the woman instead of reprimanding Raghavendra. “I have been physically and mentally harassed. Channannavar’s mother also demanded dowry in the form of gold jewellery,” she said.

Lokesh said that the marriage was arranged and registered in 2016 after Channannavar’s family approached them with the proposal. Roja said that Ravi, who is a good orator and is known all over the state for his motivational speeches addressing the youth, has no moral ground to speak of ideals.
