Bengaluru: Here is an example of how a casual attitude can bring in a lot of trouble. A father, who left home to attend an emergency work at midnight, kept the door open thinking that his wife would close it. But his better half was sleeping at that time and the door remained open. During this time, their two-and-a-half year-old daughter Manvita (name changed to protect identity) walked out of the house and started wandering on the streets of Hongasandra near Bommanahalli.

Three people saw the little kid crying on the road at 11.30pm. They took her to the nearby police station. The police then announced through the public address system that a girl was found from the street. Since there was no response from the residents, the police asked the three people to keep the girl with them. They took the girl to the place they had found her and asked where was he home. After roaming around for a while, she finally found her home.

Her father Hunumanta (name changed to protect identity) came to know about the incident only at around 3 am. “I was called for emergency work at around 11.30 pm on Tuesday. I thought that my wife would close the door after I left but she didn’t. I got to know that my child had gone through all of this only at around 3 am,” said Hanumanta.

“My wife told me about the incident after finding our daughter. I rushed home. I went to the police station around 4 am with the people who found her. I thank them for their humanity,” he said.

Devareddy, Assistant Police Sub Inspector (ASI) Bommanahalli Police Station said that they got a call from people of Hongasandra stating the kid was roaming without parents at around 11.30 pm on Tuesday night. “We went to the location and made announcements for the same. But no one responded,” said Devareddy.
