1 lakh apply for teachers posts at govt schools

Bengaluru: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for the appointment of teachers to government schools (class 6 to 8) in the State is likely to be held on May 21 and 22.

Disclosing this here on Monday the sources from the Primary and secondary education department claimed that one lakh applications have been received for 15 thousand teaching posts across Karnataka.

According to the reports, the exams will be conducted for subjects like English, Maths, Social and Science and 1, 16,063 candidates are expected to attend the exams.

The highest number of applicants is for social studies (74,574), followed by maths and science - physics and chemistry (20,745), English (15,858) and life science - botany and zoology (4,886).
