HAL airport gets 4 cm rainfall

Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport area received the highest rainfall in the city limits at 4 cm on Friday, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has disclosed. Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) campus was the next most affected in Bengaluru Urban district, receiving 2 cm of rainfall, followed by Uttarahalli, Karnataka International Airport Limited (KIAL) area and Yelahanka TC getting lashed by a cm of rain each, it added.
Strong winds with a speed of around 60 km per hour were also reported in the city, even as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) continues to grapple with fallen trees due to the prevailing squall. “Gusty wind from southeasterly direction followed by squall was reported at Bengaluru City, wind speed reaching 60 kmph at 1620 hrs IST on 06.05.2022,” an IMD report said.They also forecast rain for the next two days for the city. “Generally cloudy sky. Rain/ thundershowers very likely. Maximum and Minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33 and 21 Degree Celsius respectively,” IMD added.
