Soon, you can buy BMTC monthly pass any day

Bengaluru: For the convenience of the traveling public, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will allow the passengers to purchase monthly passes on a date-to-date basis (valid for 30 days from the date of issuance) from July 1, 2022, BMTC said.

BMTC has also decided to withdraw its earlier orders to carry BMTC identification cards along with the monthly commuter passes for the public.

The pre-printed stamp size photo-bearing ID card was priced at Rs 100 with a validity period of three years from the date of issuance.

A notification by the BMTC on Tuesday read, "Presently BMTC identity card is compulsory for monthly pass holders. In order to make it simple for the traveling public, BMTC will withdraw the ID card with effect from July 2022 by allowing the passengers to travel with any government photo ID including Aadhar Card, Voter ID, PAN card, Passport, DL, etc."
