Bomb hoax near Richmond Circle, No explosive material found

There is no end to hoax bomb calls in the city. Security forces and local police swung into action after the police control room (112) received a phone call regarding a possible bomb threat near Richmond Circle in Bengaluru on Tuesday which proved to be a hoax.
Senior officials including Deputy Commissioner of police, Central Division, R Srinivas Gowda, rushed to the spot along with a team of personnel and the dog squad for an inspection. After carrying out an intense search, the team found a plastic bag which contained waste decorative lights, worn out cables and several pieces of satin ribbons.
While the search was on, a team of traffic police cleared the vehicular congestion caused due to the news of the bomb scare spreading among people in the area.
Later DCP Srinivas Gowda spoke to News Trail regarding the incident.
"Around 2:50 pm, a resident called up the control room and claimed to have noticed a light blinking from inside a plastic bag under the flyover. We rushed to the spot and inspected it, but did not find any explosives," Gowda said. The officer also said that the caller too accompanied the personnel to the location.
Heaving a sigh of relief, the police concluded that there was no explosive material at the spot
