Business Literature is a teeming field with several hundred books on business, entrepreneurship and management coming out in India every year. They are full of interesting thoughts, radical ideas, deep questions and breakthrough answers, not to mention riveting stories. These books make for compelling reading and rich takeaways. That is what inspired Benedict Paramanand to start the Bangalore BizLit Fest back in 2015.
“I have visited many literature festivals for years and felt Business literature wasn’t getting its due. Being a business journalist myself, I thought I would start this festival and haven’t looked back since,” says Paramanand, who also edits Management Next and SustainabilityNext magazines.
Even though business literature is a very diverse field, this year’s festival will focus on startup literature. “A full day dedicated to it in hybrid mode at the Bangalore International Centre (BIC). Several interesting books on startups have been published in the last three years and since Bangalore is the startup capital of India, there’s no better place to talk about it,” says Paramanand.
In its 8th edition now, the BizLit fest will feature 20 fireside chats, 30 speakers and will cover topics ranging from need for real data for good governance, the interplay of tech, business, social sectors in shaping the coming decade and What’s the Future of Money and Technology.
Another highlight is the BBLF CK Prahalad Best Business Book Award which will be announced on September 17 and carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
