Bengaluru:
As more and more artistes turn independent, many are flocking to Bengaluru as the city has been welcoming to such solo performers. These upcoming artistes perform in the city and this often leads to the emergence of newer and fresh talents, and also encourages performers to push new and unique concepts.
Delhi based songwriter, composer and performer Yudillicious talks about his upcoming singles which he plans to release in Bengaluru in the next couple of months. His initial days were spent performing in gigs around Delhi.
He was spotted by IndoCanadian composer, music producer, songwriter and Hip Hop artist ishQ Bector and the two then worked together on a commercial track ‘Sitamgar’ in 2021, which gave Yudillicous enough fame to appear in the Rolling Stones and bag 96.2k streams with over 61.7k listeners on Spotify.
After a little soul searching with his acoustic guitar, perfor ming across the country and working on various Bollywood projects, inspired him to become liberal towards genres and this thought gave birth to the idea of his non-commercial tracks Baba, Tu Meri and Nazar na lag jaye. In order to add a textual gaiety and pomp to his songs, he decided to reach out to Mohd.
Ishaq Nazir who is an audio engineer for Coke Studio Pakistan, Natalie Di Lucio, a singer and recording artiste for AR Rahman (Tu Meri as the a vocalist), Arijit Singh’s guitar and flutist for the band Parikrama Shashank Singhania along with group of producers based in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mexico to work on his music vision and create something extraordinary. On being asked about his favorite single Yudillious said, “I think it is Baba, I lost my father at the age of 11 and it was by far the best 11 years of my life and I think the song picked its own components in this one, its half sung in Bengali which is my mother tongue and Hindi. It has a very emotional and melancholic touch to it that hits you right where it hurts.”
His other track ‘Tu Meri’ is based on his search for fulfilling love with an essence of flamingo shreds while Nazar Na Lag Jaaye is more of a groovy pop track inspired by uncertainty. About his plans to release his songs in Bengaluru he said, “I stayed in the city for a month and over to check out the music scene in town, visited many local places and met many artistes. I performed in Kadence , Lahe Lahe and Trippink Studio. I was flabbergasted by the response and thought about releasing my singles and tour in Bengaluru.
I am in conversation with Fandom for the venue for my performances in the city. The singles will be rolling out in a couple of months and so my journey plays out and on.”
