Bengaluru: The trail runs of Namma Metro between Whitefield a nd Pattandur Agrahara (ITPL), which is a 3.5 km stretch of the Baiyappanahalli - Whitefield metro line in Bengaluru, started on Friday.

The trial has begun four days earlier than the previously announced date. The BMRCL said last week that the trial runs will begin from October 25. Last week, an unused set of six cars was carried to Whitefield depot, to make preparations for the commencement of the tests.

Officials of the BMRCL along with Managing Director Anjum Parvez, performed a pooja before the trial. Officials said that the trial runs will be taken till Garudacharapalya (7.5 km), last week.

They have now said that the tests will be taken up in phases and will be carried out for the next two months, covering the remaining stretch of 15 km line. The trials will screen for safety issues and these will be followed by assessment from third parties, after which the commissioner of railway safety will be inspecting the safety.

Officials have also promised to complete the pending work on the line, especially a major work in KR Puram in the coming days.
