Bengaluru: While countless a s s u m p t i o n s and allegations are being made over the recent death of KR Puram Circle Inspector HL Nandish two days ago, state Home Minister Araga Jnanendra gave a clarification on the incident Speaking to the reporters on Saturday, the minister expressed anguish over Nandish's death.
However he said that it is not right to link the officer's death with his recent suspension. The minister explained that an order had been issued to the city police stations to restrict the resto bars and pubs from operating during the night.
"I had ordered officers to take action against pubs operating beyond permissible hours. However there was a rave party going on at a pub and based on the information, the CCB police had raided it recently. After an inquiry, the Commissioner suspended inspector Nandish citing his inaction in the case. But unfortunately, he died of cardiac arrest in a few days," the Home Minister said.
The minister also spoke about the recent statement of the BJP Minister of Small Scale Industries and Municipal Administration, MTB Nagaraj, saying that the officer would have been under stress as he would have paid Rs 70-80 lakh for his posting.
"I don't know in what sense, Nagaraj has said that. I will discuss this with him and get more details. Currently, he is out of the station, I hope he will issue a clarification soon," Jnanendra added.
