Bengaluru: A case has been filed against the teacher of a private school after a Class 10 student jumped to his death from a residential apartment building near Nagawara in the city. The incident took place on Tuesday after the student Moeen Khan, 16, was allegedly caught engaged in malpractice during a class test, by his teacher.
Following this, the teacher had asked Khan to stand outside the classroom as a punishment. However, later when the teacher found him missing, he decided to inform Khan’s parents about it. As the student failed to reach the house, the parents began to worry and started searching him at possible places before approaching the police for help.
Meanwhile, the student, who was allegedly wandering after the school time, followed another student who went into the RR Signature apartment in Balaji Layout. Reaching the 14th floor of the apartment, Khan jumped from the terrace of the building and died on the spot.
Speaking to News Trail, the Sampigehalli police said that the security guard had seen Khan going into the apartment, but since the student was in uniform and was following another student, he thought he might be a relative.
A case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC has been registered by the police and FIR has been filed based on the complaint by Khan’s parents alleging harassment from school teacher.
