13-yr-old ends life after being rebuked by parents

Bengaluru: Depressed after being chided by parents for not helping them in the household chores, a 13-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide at his home near Hebbal. The deceased was identified as Sai Kumar, a resident of Cholanayakanahalli in the city.
The incident had taken place on Friday evening and came to light only after the parents went to the terrace to look for him. According to police, Kumar did not show any i nterest i n household chores and recently the parents even found him not completing his homework, following which they had rebuked him.
However depressed with the scolding, the boy went up to the terrace and hanged himself using the ropes which had been tied up for drying clothes. The parents star ted looking for Kumar after he did not return to the house for a long time. Later they found him hanging on the terrace around 7 pm. It is a serious matter of concern that more and more people even children across the state are resorting to suicide for trivial issues.
On Tuesday, a class 10 student committed suicide after jumping from the 14th floor of an apartment near Nagawara after he was allegedly caught by his teacher copying during a class test. Meanwhile a case has been registered at the jurisdictional police regarding the incident.
Two held for extortion Two people were arrested on Saturday by the Siddapura police for allegedly faking an accident a nd ex t or t i n g money from an owner of a fourwheeler in the city. The incident was captured by CCTV and a footage of which was made viral across social media platforms.
In the footage, two people on a twowheeler were seen bashing a car that was passing next to them on the road. As the driver stopped, the riders allegedly demanded money from the ow ner of t he c a r a nd threatened to file a police complaint against him for dashing their two-wheeler.
According to the time stamp on the viral CCTV footage, the incident happened on October 26 at Bengaluru’s Siddapura area. The police said that the riders extorted Rs 15,000 from the victim. Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, P Krishna Kanth later tweeted on his Twitter handle, "Arrested 2 persons who pretended to be victims of a road accident & extorted Rs 15000 from the victim.
The accused were on the bike and they hit the victim's car & then threatened him. Seized Rs 15000 & 1 bike used for offence," The DCP also requested the public to immediately report the nearest police station if they come across any such offence.
