13.9 degrees! Time to get out your woollens

Bengaluru: Bengaluru woke up to its coldest morning in the past decade on Monday recording a minimum temperature of 13.9 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This temperature is the lowest minimum recorded in November within city limits from the year 2012.

According to weather experts, the minimum temperature is likely to futher drop in the coming days. "At 13.9c, Bengaluru City IMD recorded the lowest November minimum since 19th November 2012 today," an unofficial Twitter handle titled Bengaluru Weather run by weather enthusiasts wrote.

The lowest minimum temperature ever recorded in the city was 9.6 degrees Celsius on November 15, 1967. The drop in temperature on Monday was four degrees in comparison to the normally recorded temperature.

On Sunday, the city recorded a maximum 25.2 degrees Celsius, with a two degree drop compared to the normal. Badami and Vijayapura have recorded the lowest minimum temperatures in Karnataka at 7.6 degrees and 8.2 degrees respectively
