Alliance University’s School of Liberal Arts, in association with Asia Pacific Writers & Translators Inc (APWT), is hosting the Asia Pacific Literary Festival (APLF) to be held at the University’s Central Campus from November 28-30. Featuring an exciting line-up of authors and translators from around the world, along with tantalising cultural events, APLF 2022, will showcase the best of the creative and intellectual forces of the Asia Pacific region.
“We started our school of Liberal Arts earlier this year with the vision to make Alliance School of Liberal Arts the hub of art and culture in India,” says Anubha Singh, the Vice Chancellor of the University. Their first initiative was the Alliance Literary festival earlier this year, the success of which drew the attention of APWT, the region's longest-running and largest literary network designed to promote and connect Asia Pacific writers to the world, who approached them to host APLF this year.
The theme for the festival is "Writing outside the frame". It attempts to shine the spotlight on voices lying outside the usual frame of the literati and bring together an exhilarating confluence of styles, modes, and mediums of literature that evade convention. The festival will be inaugurated by noted mythologist and author, Devdutt Pattanaik who will discuss whether there is an Indian approach to Management.
Other sessions at the festiva l i nclude New Frontiers in Speculative Fiction, Poetry in Motion, and What’s Taboo for You? Courage in Writing and Publishing, workshops in Indian calligraphy and The Art of Indian Storytelling, a stand-up performance by Danish Sait, and film screenings. The closing ceremony will feature Tomb of Sand author Geetanjali Shree addressing the audience
